Memories from Malaga, Spain

On our first day in Malaga, Spain, Lynette and I found this cute little street and just had to stop for pictures. This is what I expected Spain to look like. This was near the Mediterranean Ocean in a city called Estapona. There was a little swap meet nearby that we visited.

We drove several hours through mountains and arrived in Ronda. The city sits on a plateau with huge gorges that were formed by the river that runs through the city.

At the top of one of the hills, we found this picturesque cross with the clouds in the background. It is a reminder that although this area is primarily of Muslim background, there was a Christian influence.

Later that evening, we went to Marbella to watch a Flaminco dance. Please watch this video....it was awesome! They use their feet and their hands to keep the rhythm.

Gifts for volunteers

Christmas 2009

In preparation for Christmas, some friends who lead our hosts at church came over and we baked pumpkin breads for all of our volunteer hosts and parking team! We wrapped them in Gingerbread cellophane bags and were received with joy!

Deby and Kate Bake English Tea Cakes!

Friday is babysitting day with Kate. I stood Kate up against the door in the hall and marked her height at 4 months. This door has markings from when Jennifer and Kelly were growing up.

Kelly was here several hours and helped with Kate. Then, Jen came over to pick up Kate and helped me set up this blog site.

While Kate was taking her nap, I made English Tea Cakes, which is one of our family favorites. Yum!
